we are great friends now....but he wasn't much of a father growing up.. worked all the time...we went on few vacations....pretty much pussy whipped my my nazis jw mother.. he never did believe in the whole jw thing.
he just when along with it, for my mothers sake.. she never did respect him for not being a "spiritual head" and pretty much let us kids know about it.. i, like my mother became very self rightious and judgmental.. i wished now he had just came to me just once and said "keith maybe the jws are not the people you think they are.
" but he was to afraid of my mother to say that...even though he knew it to be true.i would have never believed him....back then....but it would have planted a seed.... .
Big hugs and kisses to all who bear all the turmoil and disfunctionality of being raised a jw, let alone brought up with so many heartache stories, i am always amazed since i joined this site, about the similar stories i read and hear, it makes me feel as though i have found true friends that know exactly how i feel, i thankyou one and all!!!!!!!!!

i have never really looked on the jw's "official" website but i did today and i was looking around and noticed a lot of topics of today that are on debate are found on there (obviously) but why am i not surprised of how much effort goes into the topics?
I unlike some here, once convinced of my course of action, never look at dogma or doctrines anymore, i spent my whole life studing the bible, and giving public discourses, i have done my time!!!!!!!!

My father was very strict jw, an elder, and never allowed to question him or the truth, just comply, ultimate tryant, and must be his way, or you leave, he never told any of his kids he loved us, not once, shook my hand rather than hug, from infancy up, i am 45 now and i tell my boys i love them twice a day, and show it by the way i deal with them, we kiss every day, even my 18 year old son , and i did not continue the pattern.

in one hall i was in, we had sister self-righteous.
you know the type, always pointed out how spiritual she is and how much she does for jehovah.
anyway, one time she invited me and my two kids over to swim in her pool on a hot day and i told her i could come but that i had my nephew up from ct for a visit and asked if i could bring him.
one of my friends i grew up with was a little questionable, maybe gay or not?, we were about 13 , his dad was po and my dad was elder, and so i hung with them, cause i had to, one day their neighbor told their dad , that alot of his chickens were being found dead, did he ever see anything?
no never saw anything, the bookstudy was at their house, so we would play outside after the meeting, me and 2 friends couldnt find him after the meeting outside, we went around back and caught him having sex with a chicken, i guess the stress killed the chicken, dad was informed, it wasnt pretty, and we all called him chicken f-----r after that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does anyone else think that the sense of humor we have has helped us cope?
i was just noticing what a bunch of fun-loving peeps most of you are.. another thing i've noticed here too, people here are actually caring, nurturing, people.
we may get a little snippy sometimes, but all in all i think we are a pretty good bunch---especially to have come out of hell to try and live a full life..
